The Simuhelp/Simubet F. A. Q. |
| Q: What is Simuhelp/Simubet. |
| A: Simuhelp points and picks out contenders, race by race, at all major harness tracks in the USA and Canada daily! We publish a SIMUSHEET daily for every major Standardbred track in the U.S.A. and Canada. Horses are listed according to their computerised TOP POTENTIAL RATING : bias and rating factors are compiled into one easy-to-understand figure for your convenience. The Top Rated Horse in each race is always listed at "100" as an indicator and other horses according to their form. If several horses appear with the same indicator, it shows that those horses are closely matched. "SIMUHELP" will not attempt to rate first time starters and will indicate where no information is available on certain horses.(nia) Due to early entries there will be driver changes and late scratches, post position numbers could also be affected and should be verified prior to betting |
| Q: found your site was wondering what is the best way to play the sheet? A top pick to win or box top 3 horse in an exacta? |
| A: I would watch our sheet for a few days and get an idea how it would best fit your betting pattern . We do pick winners, but not every race. Overall we run a 40% or higher win percentage. The main thing you will notice, that it will give you a better focus on most races . The best bets are horses that stand out by more than 4 points over the rest of the field, we advocate to bet to win only. If you do have to bet exactas, as you did suggest, a three horse box would be fine or in case of a triactor bet, a four horse box. If there is a horse that stands out over the rest , you can always wheel two or three horses behind him. As an example , If you played Windsor raceway a while ago: There were three outstanding bets spread over seven races . The first good bet was in the first race , singled it and in the next two races took the top four picks which cost $ 16 the next good bet was in the fourth race, again singled that horse and played the 4 picks onto it . the same repeated, in the seventh The win threes paid $ 755-246-146-respectively. All this just to give you an example . Naturely we would like you to verify all our picks with the daily racing program issued by the tracks . |
| Q: Dear Sirs, I will be visiting the Metro Detroit area next week and know there is a Hazel Park harness track there. Can you tell me if they have a web page so I can start to familiarize myself with the local favorites/track bias etc? |
| A: We are not aware if Hazel Park has its own Web-site . It is 5/8 mile track, horses race 9 wide there is a hub rail and no passing lane . As far as biases are concerned, you may print out our simusheet ratings which will be an excellent help to you, if you have access to a computer . Our win percentage at Hazel Park runs at more than 40 % , let us know of your success . |
| Q: I just started using your computer picks and they are pretty good. I made $300 dollars last week using a longshot to win with your top three horses underneath this was at flamboro.Your computer picks a lot of winners and also puts in a lot of longshots in the top three, not just favorites like some programs.Keep up the good work. PS What I would like to know is what type of computer program are you using to do the analysis of the race.I have tried many programs on horse racing but never seen any as good as the one you have. If you sell your program I would be interested in purchasing it. |
| A: Glad to hear that you are having success with our program, yes we do pick some long ones , just recently it picked a $ 8 000 triacta at Montreal and $ 16500 triactor at the Meadowlands . I hope that you can familarize yourself with our program, so it will serve your betting pattern. It took us a long time to put this program together , it is based on several Data bases in which we have stored information on almost all harness horses in North America , . So selling you the program would be of no use to you, as you would still have to have access to the data bases . But we are available on the net everyday and we don't charge for our service, and we give you information on almost every track going . Sometimes as many as 30. So use our information to the best of your advantage , hope that we can make some more money for you following our ratings , the thing you will notice , that it will enable you to focus on some races much easier and faster . Please tell some friends , so they do may enjoy Simuhelp. |
| Q:
The Print: How do I make the Simusheets more
visible on my screen? Is there a way to enlarge the print
for old folks? |
A: thank you for your input , there is an indicator atop every simusheet PDF file of a magnifyng glass , you can increase the size of print and display to your comfort . I know, I am old folks too .let me know if you have any more problems . Also look at the LARGE print section on our sister Site http://www. Simubet.com |
| Q: I'm curious about your ratings rationale for Comander Del in the Freehold 1st (I haven't seen the results yet, by the way.) (December 23, 1999) Could you tell me why you selected this one over the others in what seems a weak field anyway? |
| A: thank you for your input , sorry we cannot verify the rating rationale for " Comander Dell" [ The name of the Horse], as we have no access to any of the daily racing programs. Our computers rate horses according to their past performance data, which is updated every time a horse races, Sometimes a snafu occurs, especially when a horses name closely matches that of an other one in our database, nothing is perfect .In this case we just have to wait for the results to see if our rating was wrong and be corrected . You are right it appears like a weak field , also we have no data on some of the starters at all . When this happens, we have to wait until they have raced for at least one race before knowing how they will perform in future races. |
| Q: 4 hours to post ------------------------ no sheet ??????????????????? |
| A:
Thank you for your input , are you sure the track you are
looking for has scheduled races for today? What track is
it ? Northfield? There appears to be no problem at our
end . No one else called us about any of the tracks
missing , the only time there could be difficulties,
between 11 pm and 12 EST. when we load our new
information . Sometimes there are server problems, which
are not our doing , we apologize, and advocate that you
try again a little later. That said, if you do discover
that we are missing a Simusheet for a track that is
indeed racing , please let us know as soon as possible so
that we may rectify the problem. |
| Q: Your top selection gets 100-----After your rating 100 a X appears----What does that represent? |
| A: thanks for your question , we use the X as an indicator to draw attention to the horse, as it rates 5 or more points better in the race and could be a good bet . |
| Q: Why are the Large Print Simusheets always one day ahead of schedule? |
| A: Thanks for your question. The answer to this question has to do with Storage space on the server. We are limited to the amount of files we can upload every day. The majority of people visiting the site, view the regular PDF sheets for the following day so, we made the decision to post the Simusheets in HTML format one day in advance to help our patrons. |
| Q: Since you publish the sheets so far in advance maybe you could impress upon new users the need to check for scratches and driver changes. |
| A: We do advocate on our homepage that readers use picks in conjunction with the daily racing program and verify post positions, driver changes and scratches |
| Q: You do not mention what factors you take into consideration in order to come up with your ratings. I feel that it is important for the bettor to know this, so that he can then determine his bet. For instance if the driver or post position or last quarter are not taken into consideration in coming up with your ratings, there are bettors who consider these factors important and would want to evaluate your figures or adjust them accordingly to their handicapping order of importance. |
| A: Hi, you have brought up some very valid points , we will take this into consideration and publish it on our front page in the future , we do state some of the factors already, but as you say we could be more informative about it . The factors we take into consideration are : post position , last quarter , last racing start date, horse finished in the money last start , up or down in class , horses coming from other tracks , long lay offs , breaking stride and driver biases . If you can think of a factor that we are missing , we would be glad if you let us know , so we may incorporate it with the other factors |
| Q: Is it your opinion that handicapping harness races is more profitable than handicapping the thoroughbreds? Do you handicap thoroughbred races? Thank you. |
| A:
We are working to add a handicap sheet for
thoroughbreds in near future. We have had many successful
days on either tracks . In my opinion it depends on the
bettor, which one he either finds easier to handicap or
to devote the time to . Sorry for being late in replying,
wish you lot's of success . |
| Q:
I can't bet every track you list but this is what i did
yesterday and other days are about the same and losing on
good bets also, I think your figures must be way off the
way you calculate winning percent or maybe just out of
date, could you post daily roi at every track. also how
about morning line odds. HARRINGTON RACEWAY 21.2 -4.8
HOOSIER PARK 15.4 -4.6 NORTHFIELD PARK 15.8 -12.2
MONTICELLO RACEWAY 10.4 -11.6 SCIOTO DOWNS 12.6 -7.4 POCONO DOWNS 39.8 13.8 HAZEL PARK RACEWAY 4.4 -19.6 MAYWOOD PARK 11.2 -8.8 Mohawk Racetrack 0 -20 YONKERS RACEWAY 5.5 -18.5 Total -93.7 |
| A: Hi, sorry to hear about your misfortune , of all the e-mails we received so far, this is the first negative one . We cannot regulate what or who you bet on , however we suggest on our web- site that we want to help point out contenders and to use information in conjunction with the daily racing program. Yes , the good bets have not done as well as we would want them to be. We are working to correct that. Our overall win percentage is based on handicapping thousands of races. We will be posting post individual track percentages in the near future that might assist you. We note that that you played some tracks that have just restarted their racing schedule. Their current percentages are lower where horses have not started for several weeks or come from various other tracks . The Morning line odds are posted by race tracks and most tracks have their own web-site where this information is available . In my own experience, I find that being very selective and only placing one or two bets a day makes a difference, determining those bets is still up to you . Thank you for all your input . |
| Q: Do you know where I could purchase software to download to my home computer to run the harness races before the races to see what the computer program race would look like? |
| A: sorry that we cannot provide you with a program, the prorams we work with are connected to databases that have to be updated constantly , there are some companies that sell handicapping programs where you can do a lot of the work yourself. You can try the OJC site , that's the Ontario Jockey Club, on their handicapping page. |
